Clinical boards exam in California

USC Dental school in Los Angeles.

My mom was so sweet and offered

to take us and make a trip out of the whole thing.

We went to Disneyland!

It was so great to go and see the Christmas decorations there,

we had the best time!

The day of the actual exam was pretty intense with a lot of nerves,
but we got through it and we were lucky to have such a wonderful patient Pat.

Adventures in Hollywood

The day before our clinical exam we headed to Hollywood!

We walked down the streets and looked at the stars,

did a little shopping, and took a lot of photos.

We took a weekend trip to visit Brent's Grandma Hall in Eager. It was absolutely beautiful

there and I fell in love with the small town, acres of grass and horses, and bike rides to the

First stop, walking along the harbor looking at boats.

We ate the most amazing french toast at Buster's in Seaport village shopping center.

We then walked to the downtown mall

where I purchased my first pair of Tom's which my feet love.

I loved everything about this place, there was an adorable flower shop right next to it.

We passed our anesthesia exams!

I officially passed my first boards exam this past friday.

It was one the most intense days I've experienced,

it was so exhilarating to finally get it over with.

During the clinical portion my hands were shaking so bad

I could barely re-cap the needle, very funny now!

Luckily my patient was my little sister Jodie and

she shook when she was giving her injections too.

So very lucky I have her to go through this journey with,

I could not do it with out her.

Here we are in our first semester one year ago,

Jodie has lost 30lbs since then

and I no longer have poo brown hair.

My roses have started to bloom. I go out to look at them everyday, they make me so proud. We also started a garden that I like to call my 'salsa garden'because I planted everything I need to make some freshhomemade salsa, yum.

Today we went out to dinner as a family to celebrate an exciting accomplishment, I completed my 3rd semester of Dental Hygiene school. I have been counting the weeks to graduation, hurry up and get here November! I had a week break from school and I have been enjoying every minute of it. I love waking up with my girl, going to the park, and Lilly loves going on walks with daddy! The weather in AZ has been amazing this whole week and we have been outside enjoying spring before the heat comes.

For Lilly's 1st birthday we had a luau. It was so much fun to make the food for and have everyone over to celebrate. Hawaiian food is super yummy, Brent made shoyu chicken and I made shredded pork and spam musubi. That's right spam! I made it more for the fun of it and everyone tried it. Brent even busted out his hawaiian shirt from Hawaii where he went on his mission. Lilly by the way was a trooper, she did not take a nap that day and kept trying to lay on her blanket on the floor in the middle of the party. Luckily she wasn't too grumpy, she loves being around all of her cousins. I am still 'dealing' with the fact that she is already one, what the heck happened to my baby. It really does go by way too fast and I always roll my eyes when people say that but it's true! I am so lucky to have had such a happy girl, she is always smiling and dancing... and eating. Ha ha!

I attempted to make Lilly a cake. It was really fun to make, but it turns out fondant is the devil. I made it the night before and then put it on the cake the day after. Stupid cake boss makes it look so easy, he forgot to warn you how easy a cake can go from good to lumpy!. I loved doing it though!

So the cutest thing ever was when I was helping open presents there was one with no name and Brent said it was from him. He went and bought her a present without telling me and even wrapped it! It was a new pair of earrings and I almost cried when I opened them. So sweet. I adore this man. He is the greatest dad.

Summer Time

We celebrated our fourth anniversary by going to California. It was our first time leaving Lilly, which was a little hard, but it was so so nice to sleep in, relax and spend time together. We went to Disneyland one day and forgot our camera, and then we went to the beach. It was our luck that it was super sunny all day at Disneyland and then overcast and grey when we were at the beach. Brent still got in the water, it was so cold!

We found the coolest beach in Newport, it was surrounded by these amazing beach homes and pretty trees. I dreamed of living in this house on this street, someday you will be mine…maybe.

We drove around and found this beach in Laguna. I have never been to Laguna before, apparently you are not allowed to go there unless you drive a bentley or range rover though. Too bad for us.

It was so nice to get away together and have a break from school for me and break from work for Brent. Happy 4th Anniversary Brenty, I love you!

Update for me is that I started school in March! It has been challenging being away from Lilly but I am excited to be a Dental Hygienist soon. I am so lucky to have my mom, with out her I would not be in school right now doing what I have always wanted to do. She watches Lilly for me everyday, I seriously could not do it with out her. Lilly loves her Mimi!

This semester we worked a lot on these plastic teeth guys! I called him Senor tootho because I am gay, and my friend gave me this play mustache to put on it. Good times.

The coolest part is that my sister Jodie and i got into the same class. We try to make school tolerable, I couldn’t do it without her! My first day of school, please ignore me and Lilly’s sleepy faces. We just woke up!There are parts of school that I do like, I love cleaning teeth because I am a freak. We just ended our first semester and I got to clean Brent’s teeth, it was the best day ever. …………………………………………………………………………………………

Over Fourth of July we had a family camping trip at Big Lake. It was awesome to get out of town and the heat. They found she had double ear infections, poor baby. I was officially accepted into Dental Hygiene school at Apollo College in Mesa! I am nervous and excited for this new chapter in my life. I cannot wait to hold the title of dental hygienist officially, but I know I have a hard road ahead. My mom has offered to care for Lilly the next 22 months, I could not do this without her support and encouragement. Brent will also be a huge help with Lilly with the many night clinics and late nights studying up ahead.

My sister added about six inches to my hair, it is fun because I have never had really long hair before.

I love being home on my days off, but I love the weekends even more. It’s the best when Brent is home too. We fight over who gets Lilly, except not so much when she needs her diaper changed. hmmm.

Church is always fun because I can dress her up, but she kinda likes to be naughty every Sunday. I think it’s because the time we have church is her usual time to eat some rice cereal and take her morning nap. It’s a good time, not really.

Day at the Zoo

It was a great day to go to the zoo. Perfect weather and perfect company. It is so fun to watch my nephew run around and see all of the animals. He was even brave enough to ride the camel with Mimi.

If you are wondering why Lilly looks so confused, it was because she saw her first pair of mom jeans… paired with a helmet. This lady is not ‘special’, I am not that mean, her and her family were taking the zoo tour via their bikes.

Lincoln and I having fun. It took a lot of work trying to get linc to sit on the statue. I understand his feelings because I too hate lizards, especially human sized ones with deadly strength.

Brent did not believe me when I said that a komodo dragon could eat you whole so I had to prove it to him, I found this video for proof. Beware, it’s pretty scary…

I know this video is ridiculous but it made me laugh and laugh! It’s still scary! The other video I found shows it eating a pig whole, it was disgusting.

What’s crackin!

Miss Lilly is now four months and I cannot believe how fast time flies. She is such a happy girl and loves to smile, talk, and eat! This girl doesn’t mess around when it’s time to eat either, she probably gets that from me!

Lately, we have been busy with work and being new parents. We had to make a few adjustments but we would never go back and we love our little chubbers.

oh how I do miss sleeping in though…

I have been working two days a week and I absolutely love being home on my off days but love being able to work too. I will be starting school the end of march…yikes! I got into Apollo College’s hygiene program. I will be a teeth cleaning machine in two years, but until then I will most likely be a stress monster/beast. Just thought you would appreciate the warning.

Other recent news is that my dad is back on chemotherapy. It was definitely a bummer to find this out, our family is being as positive as we can to help my dad through it. He has been battling cancer for four years now. When he was initially diagnosed they told him he had stage four cancer and that without treatment they gave him four months. He proved them wrong! His body has responded to the treatments and he has gone into remission several times. My mom has been such a great help to him and the family throughout the past four years, none of us could do it without her. We are all praying for him, he is a fighter! I love my dad.

Four Months!

Here is Lilly’s first time eating rice cereal. We had fun trying to keep it in her mouth. Silly girl. Oh and notice her socks are never big enough for her long feet.

Her four month stats: 15 lbs. 25 in. She is 92% for her height, 80 something for her weight and head. Our lil chubs is possibly going to be tall, we don’t know where she got that from!

well hello handsome! Brent turned 26 this month. I kept asking him where the heck did 25 go and he wondered the exact same thing. For his birthday he requested Oregano’s pizza and a pazooki! It was definitely delicious and he was one happy guy to get his fav pazooki. We met up with Chad, Chris, Shelley, Mary, and Braelyn and had a great time.

Lillyan was blessed by her dad in church today. It was very special, we were lucky to have our families and friends there to share it with us. Lilly is one lucky little girl to have a dad that cares so much for her and takes care of both her and I.

My mom made Lilly these precious shoes. I am in love with them. We added the two charms to the shoes to make them extra special. They are actually my mom’s great grandmothers earrings and this was her broach that went with them. So Lilly was wearing her great-great-great grandma’s earrings and I wore the broach. I love them.

It was a great blessing and a great day spent with our families. Lillyan you are so loved.

My mom’s mom, Grandma Elmo, had her 70th Birthday! We all celebrated with a surprise birthday party at my aunt Jenny’s house. My friend Brie got married, she is amazing. We went to her wedding last night and it was marvelous. She looked so beautiful. I totally cried when she walked down the aisle, when her and Greg(Kiwi) had their first dance, and when she danced with her dad. I love weddings.

One really fun thing at her wedding was that she had a photo booth for the guests. The photos you took were put into a really cute guest book that you could sign. We had a little bit too much fun with the mustache props.

When we brought Lilly home we did not realize how swollen her poor little face was. Looking back at this first photo of her first week and photos of her now, we could see how much her face changed.

Here she is right after bath time, she does not love her sponge baths. I can’t wait until her umbilical cord falls off so she can take a real bath.

Apparently I take a lot of photos of her, it’s hard not to!

So here’s the story, we went in to the hospital Wednesday morning to be induced. Arrived at the hospital at 7:30 am, started on potussin at 8:30am, Dr. Huish came in and broke my water right afterwards. I was a little scared when Shelley, my nurse and sis in law, told me he was breaking my water that soon. It helped move things along pretty fast though. By 4:00 I was ready to push, she was born 28 min later. It was so crazy to see her for the first time and hear her cry, it was the best feeling to finally hold her.

Right before we left for the hospital, still can’t believe I had an 8 lb baby in there!

These are the ladies that gave Lillyan her middle name. Mimi Debi and Mimi Deb, both are named Debra. My Sis-in-law Shelley was my nurse. She is an amazing nurse and it was so great to have her be mine that whole day. Here is my baby picture to compare Lilly and I. My parents were amazed that she looked so much like me as a baby. We are loving having her home

It’s official, our little girl will be named Lillyan. I was super excited to finish the room, I owe Brent a big thank you for all the handy work. I felt like I was just telling him what to do the whole time which he really likes…not really. I have one more week until my official due date so I have been cleaning like a crazy person and trying to relax best I can. I am trying not to get too anxious, Brent on the other hand asks me every time I call if I am having contractions! Not yet, but hopefully soon. I heard that women forget what its like to be pregnant pretty quick afterwards so I would like to remind my future self how huge I feel right now and how my skin has no more room to grow. It’s totally worth it though, I do love feeling her little foot in my tummy and feel my entire tummy shake when she has the hiccups.

Baby Shower

My three sisters and mom threw me the best shower. It was so great and I got so many cute outfits and accessories for our baby girl! Seriously, she will be dressed so cute for the first year of her life. I was so lucky that so many people come, it made me feel so special. Tear. I put up lots of pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Here is Jodie, Mom, me, Dusti, and Jamie. They are the best girls I know. The cake which read “Happy Labor Day! It’s a Girl!” This last picture cracked me up, you cant see it in the picture but Nan is behind me holding my belly like it’s ours! Too funny and she told me I better not post it on here, so I had to!

I could not sleep the night before because I was so excited to go to the shower. I told Brent it was like having a baby Christmas! I had so much fun opening all the cute presents and trying not to have a heat stroke because everyone was staring at me do it. I am so anxious to have her now!

Projects

This dad-to-be has been giving lots of projects which he has taken on with no complaint. First, he painted the babies room on a Saturday I was gone to surprise me. Very cute, definitely earned points on that one.Then he spent last Saturday hanging up wainscoting. He got some help from a friend from work. Turns out Hanging this stuff up is a big project, luckily Mr. Bert knew what he was doing. He even convinced his cousin Dane to help him do some painting.Isn’t this chandelier beautiful! Well if you are thinking otherwise you are not seeing it’s true potential. My friend Stephanie found this beauty at a garage sale and paid one dollar for it. The best thing is that it works too!I spray painted it blue along with this chair that I have had forever. I love the way they turned out. I also painted a frame I bought from Ikea that I am planning on putting in the baby’s room.I found this guy on craigslist and painted it white. I thought I would need a rocker for the room and was glad I could find a cheap one to re-do. Here’s the bell at 33 weeks. I feel that maybe face shots should no longer be permitted. Just kidding, kinda.Oh, and Koa was going psycho on this Dr. Pepper bottle. Many of you who have ever been to my house know that my dog is a Super Spaz, you should have seen him spaz out about playing with this bottle that was bigger than his body. It looks like he is drinking it!

All about Brent

I have been meaning to do a little post about Brent since his 25th birthday which was in February! I have been slacking. I just wanted to introduce you to Brent and tell you a little bit about him.

Brent has always known how to make me laugh, no matter how mad I may be at him he can always get me to laugh! I love this photo, I made him take some photos after he shaved most of his beard off. He looks so trashy, cracks me up. When Brent was nine (i think) he pulled three of his front teeth out. He got them caught in this basketball hoop! Thinking about it gives me the chills. He was jumping on the trampoline and slam dunking off the tramp. He did a reverse slam dunk and his front teeth got hooked on the net and were ripped right out! Brent was super athletic in high school. He played sports all year round. He absolutely loves baseball though. This is the only picture I have of him in high school. Here he is with his dad and mom. Brent was a Benson Bobcat! .Brent grew up in Benson which is about 45min south of Tucson. I had never heard of it until I met him, but it is a cute small town. This is Brent’s Family. Brent is the fourth out five kids. in oldest to youngest order it goes: Denton, Nicole, Chris, Brent, and Chad. His parents are Ron and Deb.

In 2003 Brent served a mission in the Honolulu, Hawaii Mission. What a beautiful place to serve! He got to live on three different islands while he was there and absolutely loved it there.

One funny thing is his best friend that he grew up with, Travis Fenn, got his mission call around the same time to Tennessee and they both reported to the MTC on the exact same day. Here they are right before they went into the Provo missionary training center.Handsome lil missionary Brent was also one of the assistants to the mission president while in Hawaii so he got to fly to each of the islands to do trainings and different things. Here he is with Elder Billings and the Mission President and his wife.

This is the first picture Brent and I ever took together…I am smiling way too big and Brent is posing with a mountain dew can. I guess we were still nervous around each other! We met a few months after he got home from his mission. He was still a little awkward, return-missionary weird, but I liked it! I thought he was so cute.

I love his smile. Brent was also one of the cutest kids ever. I wish I had a picture of him at home when he was around three, he was adorable!

Brent loves his truck, and all trucks for that matter.I have never seen someone eat so much ice cream in my life! When we went on our cruise with my family this year they had an all you can eat ice cream machine. Brent had maybe six-to-eight ice cream cones a day! That includes his before and after breakfast ice cream!

Right now Brent works for Amber Steel Fabricators and is a project manager. It is a family business which is nice that Brent can work around family. Other jobs he has had: worked for AZ highways working on the 1-10, and superintendent for Pulte homes and also Trend Homes.

Other things he likes are: Diamondback games, going to the movies, putting nacho cheddar seasoning on his popcorn, fireworks/blowing stuff up with his friends, Taylor Swift, camping, fishing, his home town, loves sushi, working on the yard sometimes, getting back scratches, his family, and just hanging out with me. The cutest thing about him is how excited he is to be a dad! I already know he will be wrapped around this little girl’s finger.

I love you Brenty and I am so lucky I have you.

3D Baby

Here she is at 29 weeks. The 3-d ultrasound was pretty cool. It had a creepiness factor to it too though. Sometimes the baby looked distorted and sometimes it looked like it was looking at you with a scary eyeball. We liked that we could see her moving around though. She is so precious and likes to snuggle her hands by her face.

Here I am at 29 weeks. We have been really liking the name Lillian too. It’s not official, but when we talk about the baby we call her Lillie so i guess we will have to wait and see! Oh, and I found out it is a family name. My Grandma’s sister was named Lillian… but she went by Madge!

Utah Trip

The whole Goodman Family headed to Utah to See Denton’s son Kade get baptized on the fourth of July weekend. It was a long drive for sure, but definitely worth the trip. We had a great time seeing Denton, Jen and the kids. One of the days we were there we went and walked around the Salt Lake Temple. I love this Temple, it is so beautiful. I took a bunch of pictures and I really liked how this one turned out.

Goodman Family Picnic

The Friday we were in Utah we went up to the canyon in American Fork to have a family picnic. The weather was perfect! It was so nice to hang out in the picnic area that was right next to a small river. The kids had so much fun throwing rocks in and splashing around. We cooked some hot dogs over the fire that took half the day to get going. All those boy scouts and no fire! They finally got it going though and we were all happy!

Fourth of July

The whole family gathered on the front lawn to watch all the boys set off fireworks. Brent's brother Denton lives near Thanksgiving Point in Lehi and they put off fireworks every year. We could see them from the front yard. We had a great fourth of July sitting together and eating milkshakes!

Earlier in the day we went to a small family reunion with some of Brent's mom's family at a park. I wish I would have taken some pictures because it was nice and Brent and his brothers played badminton and football in the grass. I probably didn't feel in the right mood to be taking pictures though because while walking in that park I stepped in the biggest pile of dog poo ever and got it all over my new flip flops. I'm still not very happy about that!

Our Weekend

This weekend was spent with Brent’s family. We had the whole Farris Fam staying the weekend with us and hanging out while Brent’s Parents stayed at Chris and Shelley’s. We had fun swimming with the kids, watching baseball on t.v., and cooking out. Brent’s younger brother Chad was ordained an Elder on Sunday so we were happy to get together to support him.

Three Years

June 3 marked the date of our third anniversary! We celebrated by going to Kona Grill for dinner and then treated ourselves to Dairy Queen for some blizzard action afterwards. We can’t believe it’s only been three years, in a good way. We are so happy we found each other and so happy we still like each other so much. Happy Anniversary Babe, Love you!

Last night was the first time Brent felt his little girl move. It was the sweetest thing and I teared up a little. I have been feeling her move for a few weeks now so it was so fun to have him finally be able to feel her move. I can't wait for him to be a dad because I know he will love every minute of it. This is me having a sappy moment.

I am now 22 weeks and really starting to love being pregnant.

Taylor Swift concert

Brent took me to the Taylor Swift concert this past thursday night with Chris and Shelley (sorry i didn't have a pic of all of us). We had so much fun, neither of us have ever been to a big concert like that before so it was a cool experience. We both thought Taylor was so cute, she walked through the crowd during one song and hugged all the little girls! It was precious. We also saw Kellie Pickler perform and she was good too! Brent was such a sweetheart to take me to the concert where the fans were 98% girls, thanks baby!

Brent built an above ground garden for our backyard. Neither of us have ever gardened before so this was a fun new project for us. We had fun spending time together and planting our little seedlings. Brent teases me because I am more excited to watch the garden grow than I am to actually eat the vegetables. I will be making some salsa though when the time is right and I am excited for that time.

We finally planted some plants in our backyard too. We are very proud of ourselves for finishing what we started. We planted two trees, two white-flower vines, and two socitey garlic plants. They are all so pretty and blooming right now.

Va Va Va Vegas

Brent and I drove up to Vegas with my parents to see my cousin Aaron marry his HS sweetheart Jennifer. It was a really nice wedding. They both live in vegas so it was a wedding at some kind of resort not on the strip. We stayed at the Treasure Island and it was surprisingly freezing that weekend. We had fun walking up and down the strip, eating at the Paris Buffet, and going shopping! I was kind of a party pooper though because I usually did not feel good and/or wanted to go to sleep around 8:30 every night. Poor Brenty, I hope I feel more normal soon for his sake.

Brent's brother Denton, his wife Jen, and kids Cade, Kali, and Gage came down from Utah to visit the family. We had fun spending time together. We also took the kids to amazing jakes and they had a lot of fun. They came down on Easter weekend so we all went down to Benson together to visit with family. We for sure had a full house when we were all together at papa and mimi's, Deb even said we were like the family on the movie Home Alone. It was so much fun being together all weekend, we were so happy to hang out with Denton, Jen, and the kids.

Wilson Family Cruise '09

In the beginning of March my family went on a cruise to the Caribbean's. It was such an awesome vacation, we loved that we all were together as a family too.

This is the man, my dad, that is responsible for this family vacation. He has been fighting cancer for the past three years and right before Christmas he found out he was in remission again. This was definitely a time to celebrate and his first reaction was that he was taking the family on a trip! Thank you dad and mom for the great memories, it was an incredible vacation.

Jamaica

Jamaica was definitely an experience. When we got off the ship we drove for two hours to the other side of the island to climb a waterfall. "Climb" is a funny word because we thought you would walk along side a pretty waterfall but really you walk straight up the waterfall getting totally wet and holding someone's hand the whole way up. It was way cool though just not at all what we expected. I was the lucky one of the group who got to hold this weird dudes hand who was totally macking on his lady friend for the photos, it was sick.
After the waterfall we headed to the dolphin cove and swam with dolphins! It was a little scarier than I thought. I maybe swam and hid a little behind Brent when the dolphin would come around. It was a cute dolphin though, and at the end we got to ride it by holding its fins while it swam. Oh, and Jamaican people were totally freaking me out because they have no problem with getting right up in your business trying to make you buy something.

Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands were beautiful and clean! Very different from Jamaica. We went out on a boat to a reef and snorkled. It was so much fun, there weren't as many fish as I thought there would be which made me happy because I was kinda nervous. We snorkeled with Rob, Jamie, Ryan, and Dusti and Jim. After we were done we took turns jumping off the boat and swimming in the ocean, the water was amazing.

I cannot tell you how much I hate/am deathly afraid of Iguanas! They were everywhere too. Our bus driver was feeding the mass of devil lizards some fruit. Have you ever seen an Iguana run...I have never been so scared.

Cozumel, Mexico

We stopped in Cozumel for one day. Cozumel is an island of Mexico. So when we stopped there we got off the ship and then got onto a little boat to cross over to the mainland to go to Tulum to see the Mayan Ruins. It was really awesome to see the ruins and hear our tour guide talk about the culture. The ruins were on a cliff overlooking the ocean. After the tour we had time to go down these steps on the cliff to the prettiest beach ever. Everyone got in the water except Jodie, Mom, and I because we thought we would be able to change into our swim suits but you couldn't. We watched everyone swim and dipped our feet in, oh and Mom had fun flinging wet sand at us, laughing, and running away. She is hilarious. It was very hot there for it only being February too. I forgot to mention our tour bus almost left all of us because we were eating tacos in the little village not paying attention to the time.

London's Run

We did it! Whitney and I have been running our booties off to prepare for this run. We ran the 10K and it pretty much kicked our trash. That is 6.2 miles by the way, a distance Whitney and I have never ever ran before. I am so proud of us, we really ran it with out really dying.

Lion King

All the girls in family went to see the musical Lion King together. My dad gave each of us tickets for christmas. It was a great show and we all really liked it. We also had an awesome time trying not to laugh throughout most of the second half of the musical because Simba had a total lisp! It was killing us everytime he would talk. Dusti and I could not stop thinking about that one guy on Fifty first dates with the lisp, it was so funny.

We all went to Carrabbas before the play too and shared some delicious food. Thanks Dad for such a great time, we had so much fun together!

We had a great christmas, and new years. We were able to spend Christmas eve and christmas morning in Benson with the Goodman's. We then drove back home to have christmas dinner with my family and open presents that afternoon.

Does anyone else have the problem of trying to post pictures and they come up as words so you don't know how to organzie them...so frustrating. Anyways, here is a random list of our christmas photos.

Again, we had a great christmas. It is always hard to pack up all the christmas decorations and the christmas tree...but it is especially hard to pack up the christmas tree. Our box is falling apart, thanks to duct tape it's still working.

Whaa! Christmas is way over and I have to go back to work. It was so nice spending so much free time with Brent. All joking aside, I feel so lucky to have two great families. We loved spending time with each of them. Nothing is more important to us than our families. Christ is the reason for the season and we are greatful to have the knowledge of Him and know that our families can be eternal. I just love the christmas season.

Brent and I hosted our first Christmas party this year with our neighbors. Funny story about our "neighbors," they were actually all our friends before we all moved to the same neighborhood. Brent and I were trend setters I guess and led the way to QC. Hosting the party was so much fun, and maybe I had a little too much fun preparing for it. I made home made cheesy potato soup, bought some bread bowls, and then had baked potato toppings. It was delish!! We all ate and hung out listening to Christmas music, Taylor Swift Christmas is our favorite right now. Whitney and Tommy we wish you could have made it, we missed you!

Temple Lights

Brent and I made it to the temple lights again this year as it is one of our Christmas traditions. We met up with Chris, Shelley and Braelyn. Before hitting up the temple we visited one of our favorite places to eat, Moki's Hawaiian Food. We even ran into some friends while we were there. It was colder than I thought outside too, luckily we all got bundled up to walk around and enjoy the temple.

Brent and his younger brother Chad went to the dunes this last weekend. Brent lives for dune season and he was really excited to go. They had a blast riding all day and taking the bikes on sweet jumps. I was really glad when he came home, this is the only time in the year where we are apart really.
I did go Christmas shopping that whole weekend with my sister Dusti and her baby Lincoln. We always have such a fun time together. Dusti cracks me up!

So this is a little late, but we put up our christmas lights and it really started to feel like christmas. Brent L-o-v-e-s Christmas, he turns into a little kid again, it is really cute. I think he will be such a fun dad someday. We have comleted our christmas shopping already so now we are just playing the waiting game which is killing me. I sort of hate surprises, I just can't handle the suspense. Brent has to hide the gifts from me.
We are so excited to spend Christmas with each of our families. It is fun because we get to have Christmas morning twice now! Anywho, here's our lights.

Friday Night

This last weekend Brent and I were invited to the Suns game with our friends Brooke and Travis. They had four amazing tickets too! We were on the fourth row...it was so awesome to be so close. It was crazy to see all the players up close, it was fun to people watch too because of all the rich floor seaters! I kept hoping I would see someone famous, but I didn't.

My Sister-in-law Shelley and my mother-in-law Deb and I all took a trip in October to Suprise my other Sis-in-law Nicole and her family in Oregon. It was such a fun trip with the girls. We were so ancy to surprise Nicole and the kids. Billy was so nice to pick us up from the airport and help with the big surprise. He also planned some fun outings for us. I thought since I posted this a month late I would just show a few highlight pictures from our weekend in Oregon. We got to meet Amy Roloff from Little People, Big World on TLC. She was so nice and her pumpkin patch was so big for such a lil family. We also went to an awesome waterfall, it was really pretty and kinda chilly.

It was a short trip, and it was hard to leave the Farris' so soon. We miss you guys!

Quick Trip to Utah!

Brent and I headed to Utah three weeks ago so we could go to his mission reunion. We were so happy we went and saw some great friends Brent made when he was serving in Hawaii. I was able to meet the mission presidents he served with. Brent was iffy about driving all that way for one weekend trip but it was definitely worth it. Brent's oldest brother Denton and his family live in Utah near provo so we got to hang out with them and their kids for the weekend. Unfortunately, I forgot to take any pictures! Lame! We were so glad to see them and the kids, we love you guys!

Driving Utah takes a really long time, and apparently you get kinda bored. Luckily Brent and I can entertain ourselves with simple props...sunglasses and cameras

I bought these beauties at Ann Taylor Loft for a whopping 6 bucks. Brent was posing with them on and I continually told him that they are not from Man Taylor! He's too funny...He will probably scold me for putting up these pics!
Because he thiefed my glasses I wore his man shades. I tried to make my most aggresive man face to fit the glasses. Turned out to look like weirdy-lips angry-eyes, something you don't want to mess with. Normal...

We stopped at the Dam at Lake Powell. It was really pretty, and nice to get out of the car for a minute.I laughed for maybe an hour at this one. he is in between hands at his side and folding his arms. I decided he/she/it would be our trip mascot. Seriously creeped me out when I opened up my happy meal, and yes I know I am not five. What happened to barbie/hot wheels?

Bad Gas...

Here's Brent working on his quad because the gas had been sitting in it for too long without use. So "bad gas" is a problem for engines I guess and needed to be switched out, not a big deal if you know what you're doing... pieces of quad scattered about, I am trying not to freak out at this point while Brent reassures me he Knows what he's doing.
He ended up taking it in to a shop to get it fixed!? I guess there was a little more going on with the engine than he thought. Too funny

My friend Nan and I went to a charity yard sale for the Nielson family on Saturday morning. If you want to know more about the family and their touching story click here. There were a lot of people there and some good finds.

I was really excited because I found these treasures! I am going to be putting them in our extra bedroom.
And lastly, the reason I seriously have had no life the past few weeks...Cupcakes! My house and chores have been so neglected!

Here's my friend Nan. We met in the fifth grade, in band, in the saxophone section...we were cool kids! She took me to a little place called Crackers this last friday for a breakfeast because she knows how much I love breakfast! I stole these pictures from her blog, I thought they were so cute. We had such a fun friday together, Nan tells all about it here. If you like crepes and berries I suggest you head to Crackers and Co. Pronto! That place is delicious. That night Brent and I went to the D-Backs game with his parents. They won, my hotdog was amazing, and we watched the fireworks at the end. Overall, it was a very fun time!

Sat. night we all headed to Red lobster where Brent and Chad dueled to see who could eat the most all you can eat shrimp. Brent won, something he regretted later!

It's Gorton, who knew he really preferred Red lobster's crispy fish fillets? Brent is still amazed that I take pictures of strangers without him noticing.

Sunday we had another dinner party at my mom's with all of my family. My mom made probably the best cake I have ever had. We ate it and then all the girls snuggled into my parents bed to watch home videos. Precious moment, and things to be remembered.

Fast forward to Monday the best day ever, My 23rd Bday! Brent and I headed over to the Chandler mall to shop and then eat at the cheesecake factory

This was sooo good! Snickers cheesecake, chosen by Mr. Brent. He loved it!
Just thought these pretty flowers needed to be shown, Brent totally spoils me. I am seriously too lucky!
Everyone was much too nice to me that day and I ate way too much good food. So pretty much it was the best day ever! Thanks everyone for thinking of me.

What we have been up to!

The other day my mom gave me this little treasure. I think I am five here, it made me laugh. Random I know.

My sister Dusti turned 30!

I made her some cupcakes and a small cake. They both turned out great, I was nervous because you bake the cake in the cones and I thought that they would get soggy. They don't!

Lincoln, my nephew, also had a birthday! It was his first birthday!
He didn't really enjoy the cake as much as we wanted him to, he mainly just smeared it everywhere and threw it.
I made this cake for fathers day for my friend Bethany. I never showed a picture of it and I wanted to because I loved the argyle!
Brent just installed a doggy-door for Koa. He wasn't so sure about it because there was a big drop when he came out, so Brent made him a mini-ramp. He loves it. I want to paint a handicap sign on it. Last thing, I cannot tell you how much I love this guy!

Too much fun

Yes I am still talking about our amazing trip to Oregon. I just miss it so much! I wanted to put a few of the pictures from our vacation up before it got too late. The first few are from going to a park near a waterfall. It was really nice, we had a picnic first and then we hiked down to the back side of the waterfall. Luckily, Billy had been there before so he told me wearing tall flip flops would be a great idea. It wasn't a great idea, thanks Bill.

This is at the Sherwood festival. It is a robinhood themed festival in the town that the farris' lived. Here's Nicole, Brent, and me being awesome.
They also had a park right by there house that had the coolest spinning toys ever. Everything moved.

Brent tried out this seat spinner, it seriously doesn't stop when you get in it.
Both of us spinning too much and taking pictures while spinning. Probably not a good idea, but I thought the picture was funny.

Trip to the Oregon Coast

I want to live here... If only it didn't rain so much. While we were in Oregon visiting Nicole and her family for a week we visited the beach. I want to go back. I kept telling Nicole that Brent and I were going to move up there with them, she said it rains too much though. We had such a fun time, I cannot tell you how beautiful Oregon is. I-loved-it.
It was really pretty, and we were all hoping for it to be warm and sunny, but it wasn't. It was really cold and we all bundled up to stay warm.

They even dared each other to get in the water. I couldn't even put my foot in the water because it was freezing. Here Brent is showing us his victory pose for getting in the cold water. They got in a lot further than this too.
The funniest part was when Billy tried to show us how tough he was by getting in a little bit with his sweater and then he hit some kind of sand pot-hole and got his sweater soaked in the cold water! Too funny. I wish I had a picture.

I have to tell Nan thanks for showing me how to make pictures look vintage. I love the way it looks. She is the cutest crafter ever. Check out some of the cute things she makes and sells here.

#1 I really want to make cupcakes as cute as these.

#2 I want to Attempt making these cheesecake pops. Only one problem, I could make them but I can't eat them. I hate swimsuit season and it hates me.

#3 I will Buy these cupcake wrappers. I might just go broke putting my money towards these because I think they are the best thing that has ever happened to cupcake wrappers.

#4 Stop shopping online because its only torture when you find more things you want to buy like these handy cupcake holders from Target. I need them? No. I Want them! Someday you will be mine.

#5 Hug these people. I kinda like love them.

Out of things to do, #5 is probably the only thing that will get done. We are heading to Oregon this Saturday to see the Farris' and I seriously can't wait. This week has gone by too slow because I have been looking forward to it, it's making me ancy!

Oh Dear!

It seems like summer is going by fast. We have stayed pretty busy but I don't really know what we have been up to. Brent's oldest brother Denton came down from Utah a few weeks ago with two of his kids Cade and Kali. It so fun to see all of them and hang out. We went swimming, barbequed and hung out in Good Ol' Benson.

Cade is really into the playstation, and I am possibly asleep in the background. Not sure.

Kali was so cute and let me snuggle her, I was sad to see them leave for home since we don't really get to see them very often. tear.

So now for the amazing wrap up of our Fourth of July!

We drove up to Benson with our friends Brooke and Travis the night before and then woke up early to get a good spot at the Benson parade. The parade was very entertaining. You'll see.

Maybe Brent had this song as his ringtone when we were dating and I hated it/loved to make fun of him for it. Too funny.

This kid was the world record holder for longest time on a uni-cycle bikey thing. I secretly wanted to see if he would fall, not so he would hurt himself, only to see what the heck he would do.

Yep its her hoverround which I mistakebly kept calling a roto-rooter. Apparently roto-rooters are used for plumbing. Koa looking so posed on the grass. He wasn't as entertained by the parade as we were. I really did enjoy it. Fourth of July was way better this year than it has been in a while for me.

Finally, to the fireworks part. We watched them on top of Brent's parents house. It was fun, a little scary getting up there though.

I wore my tennies to ensure that a roof snake wouldn't bite my toes. Brent kept elling me that there were snakes up there, I of course didn't believe him...maybe I did.

Brent got up early this saturday and headed to the motorcross track in queen creek. He had a lot of fun and got really sore too. I had to beg him to take some pictures in his four wheeling outfit (gear).

It has been the best two years of my life. Brent and I have been so lucky to have found one another. We both think we are hilarious and we love to make eachother laugh. Here are some pictures of our big day.

We got married on my best friends birthday, Happy birthday Nan! Sorry about that, I seriously wasn't thinking when we made a date. I was twitterpated, I can't believe how scattered your mind can get before you get married. This is my beautiful cake, i love it and I wanted to show a picture of it. I want to be able to make cakes for weddings, I think that would be the greatest job!

For our anniversary we went to Sedona, but before we did that Brent surprised me with this....

Isn't it the cutest thing you have ever seen. I came home one day and it was in our bedroom. He bought a white metal basket for the front too and it had a cute note in it. I seriously was so shocked, I sat on the bike and cried I was so happy. Then I rode it around the neighborhood, I felt like I was five again. This was the best surpirse ever! I love my husband.

I am so lucky to have him. He always makes me laugh. He love such guy things like playstation, fourwheelers, baseball, the suns and more. I love everything about him and I think he is absolutely adorable. Except one thing, he loves, loves, loves to tease me. Lately he will just look at me with a straight face when I make jokes and pretend I am not funny just to tease me. I know he is teasing because I know I am funny!

I came home on our anniversary, it was on a tuesday and he had cleaned the house, swept and mopped the floors. He even stopped at the grocery store and bought food to make a steak dinner and our favorite dessert, pazookie. Seriously he is such a sweetheart, I love it!

Thanks for being you Brent, you are my best friend and I love you! Happy anniversary!

Sedona

Brent and I went to Sedona for the weekend to celebrate our 2 year anniversary. It was so fun, mainly because it was just us hanging out all weekend. Brent totally spoiled me all weekend, it was really sweet. The first night we got there we went to this really yummy italian restaurant that my mom recommended. Thanks for the tip momma, it was goood. We went to the top of this mountain where people go to watch the sunset, it was windy and ruined our photo shoot.

There were a ton of people there and it was really cute to watch a beautiful sunset together. I asked Brent if he was going to propose to me now.
Oh, and there was this couple there who didn't get the memo that it is cold at night in sedona, they wore shorty shorts and the ladie's cheekys were hanging out! I told brent they were Europeans because the guys shorts were so short too. It is hard to tell in the picture, but he had long legs. The next day we went to slide rock. It was probably the coolest place ever. We both agreed we would bring our kids here every summer in the future. It was so pretty there and again there were a lot of people but it was so fun. The water was so cold, our feet hurt at first when we stood in it. We finally got in and I convinced Brent to go down the slide rock part with me. It was so fun, the rocks are smooth and mossy so you slide right down.

We got so sun burned and we had no idea until we got into the shade.

I thought both pictures of our faces while we went down the slide were hilarious.

We also went on a pink jeep tour of the mountains. It was really cool and the jeep went to the very top and we could look down at the town.
This mountain was kalled the kissing rock because it looks like two faces kissing. We wanted to kiss under it and take a picture, but apparently that's hard to do while on a jeep tour.

On the way home we stopped at the church in the rock, it was pretty cool. It was semi-uphill and I thought my calves were going to explode hiking up. I decided I don't like hiking. Oh and that ledge that we are standing on, I almost tripped over it and fell down the mountain. I was taking someone's picture and kept backing up until I hit it. I am not allowed to go to the grand canyon, I will fall in.

We had a really great time in Sedona, we didn't really fit in with the other tourist who were mainly over 60, but it was really fun!

May Movies

Apparently we have not had anything to do but go and see movies lately, we aren't too creative when it comes to planning dates. This month we saw a handful of movies that we liked. Prince Caspian, I love him, and don't worry because he is 26. I am not a chomo for liking him. (chomo=child+mollester) Iron Man was good, Brent loved it! I thought it was definitely a movie for guys, a lot of action and loud music.

And last but never least....Indiana Jones the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. One word description, AMAZING!

Shia was funny in it too! Harrison is getting old but I still love him!
I was anxiously awaiting the release of this movie. Brent and went on a friday afternoon with our whole family and our friends Nan and Breck. That was probably one of the greatest days of my life. My sisters Dusti and Jamie picked me up and we went to IHOP with Nan and her baby Mckenna. Then we went shopping at the san tan mall followed by meeting up with everyone to see the movie. Nan and Brent weren't the biggest fans of the movie but I along with my sisters loved it! We all grew up loving the movies and loving Indie!

Thats all, maybe this month we will think of something else to do. Maybe.

The past few weeks!

This weekend Brent and I had Ron and Deb stay over at our house. We had a great weekend, we went to sushi with Chris and Shelley friday and on saturday night we went to applebees with the whole familly. We thought of how much we missed the Farris' when we all got together. I totally missed you nicole this weekend when I was trying to cut up a tomato for a salad, thats your job! I bought these adorable pillowcases online. I just got them in the mail and I was so excited. I LOVE them. Brent was not so happy because we already have lots of pillows, he just doesn't get it!

The weekend before I had my niece Kaitlyn spend the night. We had a great weekend together, we had fun drawing with chalk and going to the park with uncle Brent and Koa. Brent is so cute with her, he was playing on the playground with her making her laugh. He made me laugh too when he tripped up on this climbing swirly pole, he fell and then twirled all the way down it while laughing. It was so funny.

Heres ma and pa! My mom and dad are building their house. It's still under construction but it looks really nice, I want it to be mine. They have had a great time having a big project together, I think its cute that they do it all together and come up with great ideas. My mom has been the extra great wife taking care of my dad while he has been sick. They take great care of eachother and its something I really admire.
